Preparation is Key for revamping your cabinets

Make sure they are cleaned, sanded, and free of any glossy finish before you start painting. You can use a sandpaper for the sanding process, and then clean up the surface with a degreaser. Ensuring the cabinets are completely dry, lightly sand the surface again with fine-grit sandpaper to remove any bumps or rough spots, and then wipe with a tack cloth to remove excess dust.

Prime the Surface before painting the cabinets

After sanding and cleanings, it’s time to prime. Be sure to use a primer that is compatible with Centurion 2800 and can adhere to your cabinets’ surface. This will help the bond between your cabinets and the paint. Apply the primer using a sprayer to ensure that you cover every inch of the surface. Always remember to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the primer.

Revamp The cabinets: Painting Process

After the primer dries, make sure to sand them down and clean up all the debris before you start painting. Don’t miss this step or you will be upset when the final coat doesn’t adhere like you want it too.

We use a Titan 440 to spray our clients’ cabinets. It leaves the finish coat unwaveringly beautiful to withstand the daily wear and tear. We spray a first coat then wait for it to dry, it normally only takes 15-30 minutes for the first coat to dry depending on the humidity. More humidity=longer dry time. Make sure when you spray or paint your first coat, you put on a light first coat so you aren’t over applying.
